One of the UK’s most wanted fugitives, Michael Moogan, has been arrested in Dubai.

For the past eight years, the National Crime Agency (NCA) has been looking for Michael Moogan, who is accused of being involved in a large-scale international drug distribution plot.

The 35-year-old from Liverpool has been on the run after a raid on a Dutch cafe accused of serving as a cover for drug smugglers and cartel gatherings.
The 35-year-old from Liverpool has been on the move after a raid on a Dutch cafe suspected of acting as a cover for drug smugglers and gang meetings.
According to the crime prevention department, Moogan and two other British men were connected to the cafe, which was not accessible to the public and could only be accessed via a surveillance device.

According to the NCA, detectives accused Moogan and his partners of being involved in attempts to bring cocaine from Latin America into the European Union.
Moogan, according to Dubai Police, entered the UAE under a different name and attempted to escape CCTV in an effort to elude policemen.

Before being apprehended in Dubai, Michael Moogan was on the run for eight years.
On April 21, he was apprehended after being tracked down.
“This arrest is the result of years of investigation involving a range of law enforcement partners in the UK, Europe, and the Middle East,” said Nikki Holland, the NCA’s director of investigations.

Robert Hamilton, 71, of Manchester, was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2014 after pleading guilty to drug charges after the cafe search.

After three years on the run, another individual, Robert Gerard, surrendered to the NCA, saying the burden was too much.

The 57-year-old Liverpool resident Robert Gerrard pled guilty to drug dealing charges and received a 14-year prison sentence in 2017.

Moogan will also be returned to the United Kingdom for sentencing, according to the NCA.
