Israel demolishes a tower in Gaza that housed international media.

The strike on the building hosting Gaza City’s media offices occurred on Saturday afternoon after the owner received a call from the Israeli military warning that the building was about to be destroyed.
According to the AFP news agency, Jawad Mehdi, the owner of the Jala Tower, was informed by an Israeli intelligence officer that he only had one hour to ensure the building’s evacuation.
During a conference call with the officer, AFP overheard him pleading for an additional 10 minutes to encourage journalists to grab their equipment before departing. “Please give us 10 minutes,” he pleaded, but the cop on the other end of the phone declined.
