Inside Amy Schumer Season 5 Trailer Reveals Return Of Show After 6 Years

After six years, the Inside Amy Schumer season 5 trailer is finally here. The popular sketch series hosted and created by Schumer premiered on Comedy Central in 2013 and ran for four seasons and 44 episodes of success, winning 3 Primetime Emmys and a Peabody Award. Each episode consists of sketches, stand-up comedy, and street interviews which usually follow a consistent theme.

In January 2016, Inside Amy Schumer was renewed by Comedy Central for a fifth season but as the year went on, there was growing concern the show had actually been canceled. Schumer soon denied the speculation and announced the sketch show was instead going on hiatus while she focused on touring as a stand-up comedian. Though Schumer did say she would “not [be] making the show anymore,” it was revealed years later that she was under a contractual obligation to make one more season. Earlier this year, the creator and host announced that Inside Amy Schumer season 5 was finally happening on Paramount+.

Now, just two weeks after the announcement, Paramount+ has released the first Inside Amy Schumer season 5 trailer. The video begins by immediately revealing some guest stars, including Bridget Everett, Olivia Munn, and Cazzie David (daughter of Larry David), and goes on to tease many of the over-the-top sketches audiences can expect to see in season 5. Will Inside Amy Schumer Return To Form After A Six-Year Hiatus?

When Schumer initially announced season 5 of her sketch comedy series, she joked the new episodes will “finally get [her] forever canceled.” Based on the first Inside Amy Schumer season 5 trailer, it appears there may be some truth to that statement. Some of season 5’s outrageous sketches include “Home Spanx,” “Fart Park,” “Second Amendment,” and “Flatuda,” which will see Schumer playing various characters, including an astronaut and a bachelorette. Other than the aforementioned stars, season 5 will also feature appearances from Cara Delevingne, Ellie Kemper, Jesse Williams, Michael Ian Black, Tim Meadows, Amber Tamblyn, Chris Parnell, and Laura Benanti.

By all accounts, it appears the Emmy Award-winning sketch comedy series will be returning to form. Based on Schumer’s comments and now the trailer, the show appears to be maintaining what made it so beloved in the first place – a willingness to tackle controversial and politically-charged topics for laughs. The wait for Inside Amy Schumer season 5 won’t be long, as new episodes premiere on October 20 on Paramount+.
