34 Celebrities Become Beetlejuice Characters In Stunning AI Art

In honor of the highly anticipated Beetlejuice 2, modern-day celebrities get makeovers as Beetlejuice characters using an AI software. Tim Burton’s horror comedy film, starring Michael Keaton as the ghoulish Beetlejuice alongside Geena Davis, Catherine O’Hara, Alec Baldwin and a young Winona Ryder, tells the story of a recently deceased couple who invoke the help of a problematic demon to help remove the living family that has just moved into their home.

Beetlejuice received both financial and critical success upon its release in 1988 and has become a quirky classic. It received the Academy Award for Best Makeup and spawned video games, an animated series and a highly acclaimed 2018 stage musical of the same name. Though the film’s success helped to launch Burton’s credibility as a filmmaker and led him to direct the big budget feature Batman in 1989, Beetlejuice also cemented Burton’s signature imaginative visual style. Though there have been many attempts at a sequel throughout the years, it was widely believed that too much time had passed and that such a film would most likely never get made. However, in February 2022, a sequel was announced over 30 years after the film’s initial release.

A digital artist uses an AI art software to imagine 34 modern-day celebrities as Beetlejuice characters. Due to his curiosity surrounding the upcoming Beetlejuice sequel, content writer Jim Nightingale posts a series of photos created with Jasper Art, an AI image generator, to the design website Boot Camp. “To see how Beetlejuice might look nowadays, I’ve decided to transform some of the most recognizable faces in the world into celebrity ghouls,” Nightingale writes. The results are stunning portraits showing a string of celebrities, including Harry Styles, Natalie Portman, Oprah Winfrey, the cast of Stranger Things, Elon Musk and many more decorated in Beetlejuice‘s trademark gothic visuals. The designs add an almost psychedelic look with vivid colors and a softer digital modern edge.

Could Beetlejuice 2 Include Any of These Celebrities?

In the age of reboots, remakes and revivals of old time favorites, a new Beetlejuice follow-up film seems to be in the works. It will be directed by Tim Burton, with cast favorites Keaton and Ryder set to reprise their roles. Burton fans are already speculating about which other famous faces they can hope to see in the film. While certain figures including Winfrey, Musk and King Charles are unlikely, one could picture some of these faces on screen in the Beetlejuice world. Stars of the moment like Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet could be a sought-after option, while chances are high that actress Helena Bonham Carter would make an appearance as a Burton universe veteran. Rumors of Johnny Depp, one of Burton’s most frequent collaborators, making an appearance have been persistent since his name was listed on a Google cast sheet for the film, though nothing has been officially confirmed about the actor’s involvement.

Since Beetlejuice director Burton has been tight-lipped about the project, it’s almost impossible to speculate about a potential cast when little is known about the film’s plot. Nevertheless, these images are a testament to the film’s enduring legacy that has managed to remain relevant and unique to this day. While some of these AI image suggestions could be a long shot in terms of casting, Beetlejuice 2 is bound to attract some big names.
